One of my dearest friends has made a vacation home completely wheelchair accessible. It is an item I would like to share here!
As an electric roller and travel fanatic, she knows better than anyone what it takes to create the most pleasant stay possible.
After months of talking, planning, and re-planning, her very cozy chalet in vacation park ‘De Krieckaert‘ in Gellik was realized. Look at the pictures to get an impression of how beautiful everything turned out!
In the cottage, there are the following modifications:
- Single bed on wheels with adjustable head and foot section
- Handimove ceiling elevator with bracket (bring your own lift for hygiene reasons!) from above the bed to above the toilet and into the shower
- WC chair without wheels for in the shower
The doors have a normal width and no specific adjustments were made in the kitchen.

Of course, I went to check on the spot … And approve!
